man, michael jackson was great pre-"BAD".  After that he was famous for being famous; some quality hits but the post-quincy jones era was filled with him pursuing a childhood he'd never had. His feable attempts at thug life and being tough showed that he had to compete with the new giants of the music scene.  Rap music had arrived and most of american youth quickly identified with it.  He should not be held up as the role model for black people as he became a physical freak in his pursuit of being white.  michael jackson was a great dancer but not a great producer, arranger.  only the circling vultures disagree with me.......
